Last Thursday, I was helping Stephanie with the Teacher Workshop, which is one piece of the Professional Residency Program offered by Choral Arts to schools in the local DC Metro area. This program allows teachers to develop ideas about how to integrate music in their lesson plans through classroom materials and sessions with teaching-artists. Any Given Sunday at the National Gallery of Art

The National Gallery of Art has a Sunday Concert Series in their West Garden Court at 6:30pm that is free and open to the public. The concerts are meant to enhance and promote their numerous exhibits. As is tradition, there is a Chorus Party twice a year - once in the fall and once in the spring. Last night was the first party for the 2009-2010 season! Everyone, especially the staff, gets very excited about this event because its a time for both of these groups to come together. Its good for the chorus to meet the people who are working to bring Choral Arts together in every way whether it is financially, artistically, or just plain old filling the seats (I sell tickets!
