The Annual Celebration for Martin Luther King, Jr. is a community event to remember Dr. King and honor those who continue to work tirelessly for justice and peace.
More than just a concert, the MLK Celebration Community Initiative transcends race, age, and gender Dr. King's work and to unite all who honor his ideals.

The MLK Celebration Community Initiative Includes:
Annual Tribute Concert and Humanitarian Award Presentation: Celebratory performance for 2,400 audience members, featuring a diverse combined chorus of approximately 300 singers from the Choral Arts Chorus and guest ensembles, as well as young musicians who represent the continuation of Dr. King’s legacy. To encourage community attendance and at the request of the concert’s first Honorary Chair, the late Mrs. Coretta Scott King, ticket prices are kept low and free tickets are distributed to community groups. The Annual Humanitarian Award is presented to an individual whose life work embodies the ideals of Dr. King’s legacy. At the 2012 Tribute Concert, Julian Bond will present the 9th Annual Humanitarian Award to Choral Arts Founder and Artistic Director Norman Scribner.
